Until we had a bunch of these:
Boom! Straight 8 foot long, 3 inch wide strips cut from sheets of plywood. The wood was then glued using construction adhesive and nailed to the wall using finishing nails.
Now we have this:
Horizontal wainscoting baby. After the epic fail, I am amazed to say that the wood fits together ridiculously well.
